About Department: The Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities has been constituted to kindle and promote the investigative spirit among the young fresher i.e. the I year engineering students. The Department prepares them for the advanced technical endeavor of the undergraduate course. Contemporary technical education is strongly rooted in Basic Sciences be it Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics. It is the reason why curriculums and syllabus in Technical Education stress the understanding and application of various basic principles of Science & Mathematics. The I year students are a heterogeneous mix from diverse backgrounds. Hence the Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities provides the integrated courses required for acquiring good foundation in Basic Science, so that they may have a smooth transition from I year to II year, ready to pursue advanced courses requiring application of skills and knowledge. The Basic Sciences & Humanities Department offers foundation courses in the following areas:- Mathematics Engineering Physics Solid State Physics / Applied Physics Engineering Chemistry English Management / Environmental Science
